What will happen in the class?
This depends on which class you attend, but all will start with gentle movements that will test out your ease of mobility for all of the joints of your body, and encourage you to slowly release and increase the range and mobility as the weeks progress. Following this, smooth, rhythmical and circular Qi-gong movements will start to relax and open your body, slow down your monkey mind and develop your deeper natural breath. People of all ages and levels work in the same class side by side, you work at your own pace and speed. If you miss a class you won't fall behind the rest of the group. For classes which last one and a half hours, and incorporate Tai Chi, there will be a break for tea and a social chat followed by Tai Chi Wu short form instruction. You always work at your own level, the lessons only move at the pace of the people in the class. The success is in the system, just become quietly committed, turn up and practice - that's it. |
